Winter vacation, another awesome time!

I stayed at the castle during this vacation of many reasons; the Easter is coming soon more precisely in a month and that holiday is much longer and I also wanted to acquaint me more with the country. However I spend a lot of time in the music building, I also trained almost everyday in gym, running and now and then some football with some other guys.  School was open throughout the week and one day was I asked to show around a Finnish family that had a girl who will attend the upper secondary school next year, pretty nice.

I wasn't the only student that defended the castle but I was the one that stayed through the whole week, strongly! We had a lot of food and got refills and it was still food left on Sunday. Anyway I did not eat on the castle everyday, so some of the days it was a bit more luxury than others!;D

1. Home made pizzas on the inside of the castle 2. Luxury food made on the outside of the castle (Raphael restuarant in Brussels, recommend!)

The end of the weekend was the perfect end of the vacation, I went to Brussels by train from Waterloo and it was a shiniest day (Saturday) during the week and when I arrived to Brussels my political friend called me and asked if I wanted to join and visit the Military Museum which was placed here...

So I took the metro to the area but first we had to take advantage of the sun a little at a nice cafe! =D

Some chosen pics from the very interesting military history museum, check it out! The museum was focused largely on all Belgian history of war, in the giant museum could you find a lot of things that have been preserved from conquest, great battles, countries that Belgium has been in contact with, and much more!

Back to the text
On the trains, undergrounds during the trip I met a couple of new friends as I always do but it was a coincidence that I met a same age awesome and nice Danish au pair which lived in Waterloo, really great to meet you! See you soon again!;D
Another day this week I went out with my French friend in Waterloo and she showed me places I not have seen before and at the same time we talked a lot and I improved my French, thanks for that and it was really nice of you!=)

Good morning sunshines!

For the moment the day consist of

school works (math test),

preparations for Scandinavian School of Brussels Model United Nations (SSBMUN)

and soon training because we have a floorball game tomorrow and it's a long time ago since we had a game with the senior team now! That's one reason why I really want to go and play with the floorball ball, to be ready tomorrow!

Waterloo around!

Waterloo is a really suitable place located in the Walloonia region which means that the community is talking French while in the other region of Belgium namely Flandern they are speaking dutch. You find Waterloo in the middle of Belgium in the heart of the heart, it lives almost 30 000 inhabitants but many of these are non-Belgian and work for institutions or companies in Brussels or for the political centre of the European Union. This town architecture is old stone cottage and bricks houses and it's a rich suburban to Brussels. The houses are often surounded of perfect cut hedges.

It's a great nature with deep forests and huge trees, I prefer you to come and visit Belgium when it's warm periods because then everything is more green and much more nice! Winter is also a fine period during the year here in Belgium but I am coming from Finland and enjoy the snow but it's cool to see the landscape in a other condition.

Waterloo City is really compact and consists mainly of a street that cross the whole city and on the both sides you can find a lots of different stores as international and Belgian national shops. Waterloo has also a variety of restaurants around the whole town cheaper and more expensive. Without talking about all facilities to get yourself a new hairstyle!

The "Night Life" in Belgium during the weekends are always loud and lively and it's a huge amount of youths out and it gets a nice atmosphere in the air and you get a cool aura around you! Some places in Waterloo in rank arrangements: Touch Down, Coctail Bar, Oscar's, Friday's, Knokke Out and Mezza... The well known Scandinavian party place in Brussels is called for LE YOU.

Some last words about Waterloo in this post, Waterloo is a really great place to live in, the public transport is working fine without any bigger problems and oddities with taxis, buses and trains, close to the train station you can find a market place and every Sunday a pretty big and comfortable market is held there. Good Night readers, friends, strangers, gamers, cool dudes and everybody! Sleep well!;)

What does the Weather in Waterloo looks like?

Before I came here my opinions about Belgium was agitated and a bit confused but my instinct said it's probably a lot of fog, pretty cold climate and rain atleast three times a day! But once I came here I have hardly complained anything about the weather, during August it all flourished overall and into October we still caught the sunlight from the very shiny sun!

I have heard a lot of information about the Weather in Belgium. Belgium is placed close to the Gulf Stream and that's why the country has a maritime climate which means quite constant temperature, mild winters and temperate summers and of course rain comprises for the maritime climate. The summer comes earlier to Belgium than in Finland, Sweden and Norway. The most sunshine hours do you find on the coastline.

Do not trust any sources or something, you should come and live here to know what I am telling because three days ago I clarified and experienced by myself that the weather in Belgium can be very very unsafe at any rate more than in Finland!

Three days back it was really strange but also pretty funny because I have not realized this fast changing weather as I did that day. I went with a couple of my friends to Quick; fastfood corporation (Belgium's kind of McDonald's). Firstly we had sunshine and it felt temperate twenty minutes later it started to rain another twenty minutes it started to rain big hail and with a snap with the fingers it came like a furious whirlwind and reduced the rain and it started to snow.

When it comes snow in Belgium the traffic is slowing down and everybody is talking about chaos when the first snow is coming and I agree because cars cannot drive forward because they don't have the right wheels and some drivers underestimates the snow and ice and it ends usually with wrath and collides for the stressed drivers. Including airport, train station gets troubles and all kind of public passenger transport.

Overall the weather has been better and very stabile and the weather prognos has almost everyday been dependable or better than reliable, maybe I brought with me my luck because I have my four-leaved clover with me here too!

For you that have ignorance about this hot summer 2011 we have had that was considerable for whole Europe, it was a wave from India that we call for the the "Indian Summer".

We can however explain the instability weather prognos declared to the global heating, which has main consequences from the greenhouse effect, greenhouse gas, radiative forcing and carbon dioxide in earth's atmosphere. In this case these consequences creates new climate such on earth and also disturbs the sea, new climate in different places and new different temperatures than before as global average air and ocean temperatures, widespread melting of snow and ice and rising global average sea level.

Hey you I also studying geography, my knowledges is huge! (;

J, wish you all a cool day!

The traditional Fat Tuesday!

Today it's a special Tuesday of the year, It's the Fat Tuesday or Shrove Tuesday Buns. In Scandinavia these lovely cream filled buns were once associated with the Lenten season. The buns are now enjoyed at any time, we are eating them from Christmas to Easter but they were once made only on the day before Ash Wednesday.

This is my own fastlagsbulle that I made today, pretty proud! Hehe!

The buns are a real delicacy and I think everyone will enjoy them. A simple sweet dough is shaped into rolls and baked. Once they're done they can be filled in many ways.
It's quite easy to make and I really think that everyone will enjoy them, they are a real delicacy! It's two main factors: 1. A simple sweet dough is shaped into rolls and baked. 2. Once they're done they can be filled in many ways, usually with whipped cream and almond paste.

I hope everyone is ready for the Lenten season! ;))

Lazy Friday and Floorball updating!

Friday and the start shot of the winter vacation, WOHOO!

The first whole day in the winter vacation, I ate lunch with the teachers ^^. Yeah, for you who didn't knew I am staying in Belgium during the Winter vacation now, so if you want to come and visit me just come over here to the castle! ;)

The Easter break is almost three weeks and then I will leave Belgium for Finland or France and that vacation is coming fast, I want to point out that the time since christmas vacation have went fast as a snap with the fingers. I'm staying in Belgium to get to know the country more, and visit attractions and maybe take a trip crossing the country's frontiers! I will meet friends, and make new friends and get some nice visiters!

I am not worried about to be bored, because it was a long time since I was bored (we are talking about a half year)!;D

:)

Floorball, UPDATING!

It will be floorball trainings and games during the vacation... I haven't told you about this happening in Januari:

In October I had been asked to play a national game against the Belgium U-19 national team and it was in the beginning of the series here in Belgium so I answerd yes of course.

The time went fast and my skills improved with shows and I have saved every penalty so far in the series both in juniors league and in seniors league which I am proud over.

We had a bad first game (which we played on our home arena against Tigers) and we lost heavily, it was a lot of supporters, thanks but sorry but the main things is that we take us to the playoff, we are now third in the League and we have to be one of the firth best when the season is over to reach the playoff.

Here is a pic from the national game arena, where all national floorball game is played, the Belgium floorball team had a training here before our game.

And we won!!! 3-1, very equal game not so dramatic but very exciting during the whole game,

(first period: 1-0, second period: 2-0, third period: 2-1, 3-1)

It was a new stadion and the finest I have played in so far!

Great times!

Well played every chosen player!

Great birthday celebrating yesterday, it was fun!

I met some new great friends!(Y) Thanks to Brice, Quentin, Jérôme, Estelle and Simon it was a real pleasure to meet you also, funny and cool guys! Très bien!

Brussels and the Finnish president election 2012!

Same week as I came back from the winter vacation I went to Brussels with my voting card that I brought with me from Finland, for voting in the president election (round one).

In Finland to be able to vote in any of the bigger elections one requirement is to be 18 years old, which I became during my holiday. I like politics and I am glad and proud especially to be able to vote same year as I got 18 in the president election itself. I was one of the few 1994 born youths in Finland that voted!

This was the Finnish president candidates 2012 in the first round.

I met my friends at the voting place, Seamans Church. We shared a cup of coffee it was a nice atmosphere and good feelings with a lot of Finnish people gathered at same place in whole Belgium.

It was also a second round but that time I went with a teacher from SSB with some students from GYM 3 also.

It was a competition between these two gentlemen in the final round:

<- Pekka Haavisto Vs Sauli Niinistö ->

The winner was... Sauli Niinistö and he is the new president of Finland!

I am proud that Sauli Niinistö won, (guess who I was voting on?), he is man with lots of experiences and he has been second twice president elections against Tarja Hallonen, In Finland you are allowed to be president two 6 years periods.

The former president of Finland Tarja Hallonen, and Barack Obama!

Brussels around at the same tour,

My friend and I at Grand Place, (Y) It was a real pleasure to meet you guys!

- Brussels, great view

- Brussels, oui!

Good night every single nice dude! Tomorrow starts the new school week but this week will be shorter because we have Sports Vacation starting from Thursday!

Keep out, wonderful vacation!

Sums up the recent time!

During the winter vacation,

first of all I want to say that when me and my Finnish friend Roope went home our plane was overbooked so we got an offer, 150 euros and 1 hour earlier in our destination Helsinki, the capital of Finland, soo...

...we took the offer directly but we had to pass Germany but I like Germany because I can talk German!

On the way back to Belgium I also flew through Germany, Frankfurt. Frankfurts airport is the second largest in Europe. I ate a real Bratwurst und es schmeckte sehr gut wie die Döner auch machen.

I am going to Germany this summer too, for practising German and enjoy the culture! Looking forward! (H)

What did I do in Finland, really?

Back in Finland I travelled around whole country to meet relatives, friends and my lovely family! I had an awesome winter holiday and wished it had been one week more, but of course it feels better than good to be back in Belgium in the second life! :)

The head point from Finland was when I became 18 years old, and went out for celebrating it, it was so successful! ;)

Sad that I couldn't cruise around with any car, I will take the car license in Belgium(French car school!) so when I come back we will cruise a lot! Maybe I take home a car from some of the neighbour countries such as Germany!

;']

Christmas went well with a lot of gorgeous food and a real Santa Claus! I think I went up around 4 kg during the christmas time and I got a lot of new stuff as:
camera,
suitcase,
clock,
clothes,
money,

.
.
.
the list is long!

If you are a nice child you will get many christmas gifts!

;b

=D

And I cannot forget the  "Happy new year" celebrating in Närpes itself, which was awesome and very very nice! I appreciated and enjoyed every second! =)

I met a lot of old friends during my time in Finland and made new friends! =)

Thanks Finland for a nice Winter Vacation!

(Y)

Shiny Tuesday!

Tjeena manno! Riktigt tréf dag idag minsann!=D

(I am trying to learn my self the real Swedish language, according to the Swedes and I am improving everyday with something!)

The view from my window, nice weather! When we finally have got some real snow that seems to stay longer than a half day, I was thinking with some of my friends today to have some snow football on the field on gymnastics! Doesn't it sounds 3xtremly fun?;p

Back from School to have a little "ciesta" as you say in Spain. ^^

Well yeah, I had my presentation today with my Finnish friend Robert Välimäki,
the king of Tampere! Well done my friend! This presentation we had was about a new idéa by ourselves, "maybe it will come true in the future" to help refugees and IDP in the world. Here is some following main fact:

International Saviors (IS)

We are a special elite group appointed by UNICEF to care for a certain amount of youth refugees and ill-placed youth.

These young people must learn and develop so that they can take care of a society of their own after a 6-year period with little help from us. IS (International Savers) will of course support with funds and necessities.

Thanks for supporting me during the presentation Johan and Rodert that's why I am sharing this AWESOME picture to you!

";)"

Have a nice day everybody! =)

The blog is back and so am I!

Good evening everybody!

Yesterday me and my brother solved that irritating camera problem that is one of the main reasons for no blogging last month. I am really sorry readers and true readers! From now, I will keep you updated with a lot of posts about what is happening for funny, serious and nice happenings!;D

I recognized that me and my clever brother collaborate really good together, we solved the problem on less than 7 minutes. The case is that I got a new Olympus camera as a christmas gift. Olympus is a good brand but I am not the only one that have had problems with Olympus electronics. The problem with this Olympus camera, it was a trouble for the camera and computer to find and to connect to each other.  Now I have changed the USB CONNECTION to MTP. Very technical intricately solution^^ on the camera problem. Enough about my camera, What is it just it's working! :)
